Jorge de Araujo
Jorge was born in East Timor in 1977. When he was 11 years old
his family gained refugee status and moved to Portugal and then
five years later come to live in Australia.
Jorge de Araujo is a Melbourne based photographer with an array
of clients interstate and overseas. He has won several awards
and recognitions, which has seen his work published and exhibited
in Australia, USA, Canada, UK and South Africa.
A regular contributor to Living Now magazine in Melbourne, his
commercial, advertising, portraits and editorial images have
also appeared in various national and international publications
such The Age newspaper, American Photo and Capture magazines.
Jorge’s inspiration comes from creating work that touch,
and inspire others. He is particularly active around social
and cultural issues, using art to inspire social change. He's
doing his Postgraduate studies at the Victorian College of the
Arts in Community Cultural Development.
